Family Preparedness Plan

Family Preparedness Plan - Immigrant and Refugee Children

There are communities where school aged children might have parents who could be put into detention centers by ICE agents during the hours the children are at school. SED has shared some guidance about this. We thought school counselors should be aware of the following resource for families who could potentially find themselves in this position. Albany Law School/NYCLU faculty have recommended families have a family preparedness plan. The link (below)  is one example. The Guidance Center of Westchester is sharing Legal Aid Society “Emergency Plan in Case of Detention or Deportation of Family Members” with their families.
